OK, let's start talking about the role of a father and mother or wife and husband. If we give the symbol to a position, then the father is the leader of my family, the mother is the vice chairman and the child is ballad. Regarding the role of the father, there are four roles in the family's father as stated by Najeela Shihab. The roles are:

- Teacher, A good father should also be able to act as a teacher. Teachers that means source of knowledge for children. Dad vital role as a teacher is not only to transfer knowledge, but also to maintain a child's curiosity.
- Protector, Each Dad must have an instinct to protect their children from birth. But the father functions as protector not only that. Instead, the most important thing is to teach children to protect themselves because the parents can not be with them all the time. As protector, Dad needs to be a Spy, in the sense of trying to identify the child's world: find out what her favorite, what he hates, close friends, and the world that the child occupied. The world is getting to know the child's father, the easier it is to establish communication and connection with them.
- Partner, As a partner, the function of mother's father was not supportive in parenting, but equal partners. That is, the father has rights and responsibilities similar to Mother. As a partner, father should not only expect and rely on the mother, but also actively involved. Father also has the right to play with the children, not only serves as a "bad cop" to scare the children.
